Volunteer to Help FUNbank or Write Postcards in the Georgia Runoff Races!

Cherika Carter, heading up the WSLC Labor Neighbor Program, put out this message on how to help with the Georgia Senate Runoff Races:

A pro-worker Senate hinges on Georgia’s two run-off elections, which take place on January 5, 2021. Do not let anyone tell you that winning this is impossible. Working people and our allies in Georgia voted for President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris. Georgia is ready to elect Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock to the Senate, two pro-worker champions and union-endorsed candidates. Rev. Warnock and Jon Ossoff understand the severity of the crisis Georgia is in right now. Lives and livelihoods are on the line. It is up to us to get out the vote, and get them elected.

Please help with these to these two asks concerning Georgia’s run-off elections.

1. Georgia Phonebank recruitment
Please recruit members to join our weekly Tuesday Georgia FUNBanks. FUNBanks are happening as a Washington Cohort from 11am – 1pm PST on Tuesday’s. If you have a group of volunteers who would like to FUNBank together as a cohort at a different time, and you’re able to lead the phonebank please reach out to me so we can set-up an alternate phonebank for your group. The FUNBank flyer is the graphic here, and folks can sign up here - https://forms.gle/PjEeV4uvcZTcniYh6.

2. Georgia Postcard Writing
Please email her at ccarter@wslc.org and let her know if you’d like to write postcards no later than Wednesday, December 9th. Once ordered, packages, including postcards, stamps and sample messages, will be mailed. Lists of mailing addresses will be sent via email.

Note: you can request postcards for the “General Public,” "Union members," or "Either Option." Also, be aware that all activity related to writing and sending of General Public postcards must be done by people who are volunteers or on otherwise unpaid time.
