2024 WSARA Annual Convention

Registration is now open for our 2024 WSARA Annual Convention.

The Washington State Alliance for Retired Americans’ Executive Board invites members and guests to attend our 2024 Annual Convention. The meeting will be held in person on Tuesday September 10th at the Washington Education Association (WEA) Union Hall located at 32032 Weyerhaeuser Way S, Federal WA 98001.

Registration and check-in will open starting at 9:00 am outside the Fern Room. The Convention will begin at 10 AM and end at 3:00 PM. A free boxed lunch is included in the cost of $50.00 registration per delegate and/or guest.

Registration can be paid on-line here or by mailing a check to WSARA, 906 Columbia St. SW Suite 202, Olympia, WA 9850.

Affiliations will be accepted during registration.

This year’s theme is Help Elect the Leaders that Seniors Deserve.

Officer elections will be held for the position of Treasurer and up to five (5) Union Vice-Presidents for a 3-year term. Nominations for Treasurer will be made from the Convention floor, with self-nominations accepted. Vice-Presidents will be elected by Union Caucus.

Two WSARA Senior Champion Awards will be presented, and we will hear from ARA National Executive Director Rich Fiesta and WSLC President April Sims, along with video greetings from Senator Maria Cantwell. Other speakers will be announced soon.

Affiliates wishing to submit a resolution or proposed amendment to the Bylaws must submit it in writing by August 31, 2024 to WSARAPresident@Hotmail.com.

Nominate a WSARA Senior Champion

Affiliated members are invited to submit a nomination for one of our two WSARA Senior Champion Awards we will present at our Annual Convention on September 10th:

  • Elected Official Senior Champion – this award is for an elected person at any level of government that has made a significant impact on the well-being of Washington’s senior citizens or towards their retirement security
  • Senior Advocate – this award is for any WA resident that has contributed substantial volunteer time and effort towards improving conditions for senior citizens within our state
